The All-Pro Diet

Mitzi Dulan, registered dietitian for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, has partnered with NFL star, Tony Gonzalez, to create The All-Pro Diet.

Inspired by Mitzi, Gonzalez switched from a diet of red meat and fast food to organic, mostly plant-based, whole foods.  The changes he made immediately impacted his life, both personally and professionally.

Here’s some sneak peak, ‘”all-pro” advice from Mitzi and Tony:

1. Eat at least one plant based meal per day.

2. Read food labels and look for foods with ingredients that are easy to pronounce with short ingredient lists or single ingredients.

3. Eat more whole grains, fruits and vegetables

4. Stop eating when satisfied

Personally (and I’m not just saying this because Mitzi has been an incredible mentor to me), I’m really looking forward to reading this book.

As a very active person, I am always looking for the best ways to fuel and recharge my body for exercise.  I was starting to give up on fitness books all together, since the only advice I was getting was to eat egg whites and protein shakes.  No, thanks!

This book is a breath of fresh air on the topic of sports nutrition.  It moves away from the traditional low-carb, high protein, no-fat, bodybuilder mentality, to emphasize natural and and accessible nutrition principles for a healthier life.

I’m also excited to announce that I will be interviewing Mitzi Dulan herself right here on Simply Savor.  We’ll talk more about the All-Pro Diet!

Mitzi would love to answer any questions you guys have personally, so feel free to ask away in the comments section and she’ll be sure to address them!

One of my questions for Mitzi would be “What is your favorite pre and post workout snack that you eat or recommend to your clients, and why?”

Have a wonderful day everyone :)

This All-Pro Diet sounds really interesting. Honestly it’s refreshing to see a diet proposed for athletes that’s not all about red meat!
